PDO MediThread
Do you dread looking in the mirror because you’re afraid you’ll spot a new wrinkle or area of sagging skin? If so, it might be time to consider a non-surgical facial thread lift. MediThread PDO is a minimally invasive facelift. MediThread lift procedures have changed drastically and PDO Medithread lifts are now one of the most popular ways to achieve facelift-like results without the downtime and general anesthesia of a traditional surgical face lift. Many patients who have done facial fillers in the past love getting extra lift and contouring that facial threading can provide with or without facial fillers.
What is the PDO MediThread Lift?
A PDO (Polydioxanone) thread lift is a procedure which tightens and lifts sagging skin by using threads made of PDO. After local anesthesia is administered, your practitioner uses a sterile needle and inserts a barbed thread into the deep layers of your skin. There, the barbed thread attaches to the skin and your practitioner is able to contour the face with the thread. Any excess threads are then cut. This threading allows to skin to be lifted and then typically after 4-6 months, absorbs into the skin. Depending on the area being treated, the entire procedure takes 30-45 minutes. The PDO MediThread lift has multiple benefits:
- Skin tightening – This occurs because the fat tissue contracts in the healing process.
- Collagen stimulation occurs when the skin heals after the procedure
- Skin lifting- Immediate skin lifting from the PDO threads is visible and continues for weeks after the procedure.
Some people choose to get the procedure done solely for collagen enhancement. When the body feels any kind of foreign object in the skin, it starts a repair and healing process. During the healing process collagen is produced. With thread lifting and enhanced collagen stimulation, the lifting effects typically last for 12-15 months.
What areas of the body can be treated with PDO MediThread lift?
The PDO MediThread lift is not just for the face. Practically any area of the body that needs tightening can be threaded, including:
- Neck
- Cheeks
- Periocular area
- Facial Profile can be more defined
- Smoker’s line can be diminished
- Glabella
- Crow’s feet around the eyes
- Eyelids
- Nasolabial folds between the nose and the mouth
- Jawline and jowls
PDO MediThreads can help the areas with skin lifting, volumizing, and improving skin tone and texture.
Are PDO MediThread Lifts Safe?
During a traditional facelift surgery, excess skin is removed and stitched. During PDO thread lifting the face is tightened and lifted providing a faster recovery time that does not require general anesthesia. You likely will have some bruising, swelling, and soreness, but you can return to non-strenuous activities within several days. During the procedure, there is slight discomfort, but most patients do very well with localized numbing of the areas of the face that are being treated. Individual results may vary. Call Sneed MediSpa and schedule a consultation to see if MediThread PDO skin lifting is right for you.
