What is the difference between Xeomin and Dermal Fillers like Radiesse and Belotero?

Aging is inevitable but how about the look and feel of our skin? Many women are willing to fight the signs of aging and turn back the clock to care for their skin. Three popular injectables fight the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and volume loss.  Xeomin, Radiesse, and Belotero offer dynamic treatment options.

Xeomin or Fillers? What is the difference?

Both Xeomin and dermal fillers are administered through injections. That is where the similarity ends. Xeomin acts to relax the muscles in the face that cause wrinkles while dermal fillers are injected under the skin to add volume to the skin, making it look fuller, giving the patient a more youthful appearance. Volume in the face is lost as we age. Fillers like Belotero and Radiesse can restore volume loss to areas of the face like the cheeks, under eyes, lips, chin and jaw line.

Benefits of Xeomin

  • Reduces wrinkles by reducing the movement of muscles in the face.
  • Xeomin blocks the nerve signals from the targeted muscle. Blocking the signals paralyzes the muscle and freezes it. When the muscle is paralyzed, the wrinkles are significantly reduced or can completely disappear.

Benefits of Dermal Fillers

  • As we age, we lose elasticity in our skin. Fillers stimulate the production of collagen.
  • Dermal fillers provide instant volume in the targeted area, giving it a youthful appearance.

Sneed Medispa and Wellness provides Xeomin injections along with Radiesse and Belotero facial fillers.  Many patients will desire a combination treatment of Xeomin injections to smooth out wrinkles and desire to include fillers like Radiesse or Belotero to ease expression lines and plump and fill other areas of the face.  Our medical providers can explain procedures and provide you with the information necessary to decide which treatment(s) might be best for you. Make your appointment for your free consultation today! Call (901) 236-7722.
